Just wondering if there are any poor souls trying to master the 50 caliber handgun. I've read threads by 50 caliber "pistolero's" on other forums and there's a lot of shooters out there shooting sub-minute groups off the bench and little bug holes off-hand at 50 yards. I've shot competitively both pistol and rifle for 20+ years out of my 55+ years of shooting. I even earned a top 20 patch once in a National Match (rifle), so in the past I’ve been able to wiggle, wobble and guess right with the wind Gods smiling upon me for a couple of days, while most of the other guys managed to mess up at least one relay over two days. I’m normally one of those guys but on this one special occasion I had a terrific second day of shooting that more than made up for my lousy 1st day on the line. I've also shot alongside nationally ranked shooters and observed firsthand how they could shoot and none of them ever shot, as well as, some of those other forum shooters. I've often wondered why those forum shooters never entered local, State, regional and National matches, so they could set some National Records and see their names displayed in magazines for shooters and walk away with some pretty impressive trophies. I guess I should get back on subject here. Anyone shooting the 50? And how are you doing? I’m currently working with the 50JRH and the 50 Smith. The JRH is a single action and made by Magnum Research (BFG). My Smiths are the 4” model and 5” JR model. I reload for both calibers.
